Requirements

There are a few requirements you will need to meet to use this voice command with Siri. You can find them listed below. 

  • iOS 16.4 or higher: As of March 8th, 2023, you will need iOS 16.4 developer beta 2 or higher to have the shutdown voice command available. use this voice command with Siri. You can choose to use the beta version of iOS to get this feature instantly or wait for the final release of iOS 16.4 in the coming weeks.
  • Siri enabled: You will need Siri enabled on your device to use this command to power off your iPhone.

Step-by-step guide

Now that you’re familiar with the requirements, here’s how to use a voice command to power off your device using Siri on iOS 16.4 or higher. 

Launch Siri on your device. You can use the Hey Siri command if you have it enabled, or press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button on the right side of your device.

Now use the following command to turn off your device.

  • Power Off

Siri will now ask for your confirmation to turn off your device. Tap Power Off to confirm your choice.
